Day 2: Zesty Calzone
{and cute Harvey. He sits in his bumbo seat, on the counter, and watches me make dinner most nights}
This dish got 2 thumbs up. {RJ liked it, Makayla didn't, and Abbey and I gave it a medium}
1 tube refrigerated pizza crust
2 TB grated parm. cheese
8 think slices deli ham
8 thin slices salami {next time I'll use pepperoni}
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup green pepper
1/4 cup chopped tomato
1 cup shredded mozz. cheese
In a greased 15x10x1 inch baking pan, pat dough into a 13x8 rectangle. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese to within 1/2 inch of edges.
On half of the dough, layer ham, salami, onion, green pepper, and tomato to within 1 inch of edge. Sprinkle with mozz. cheeze. Fold dough over filling; pinch edges to seal. Cut slits in top
Bake at 425 degrees for 20-22 minutes or golden brown. Let stand for 10 minutes. Cut into four pieces.
Next time I'd add some pizza sauce, pepperoni instead of salami, and maybe some sausage.
