RJ took the girls {along with the Mathews clan} to the Kiabab to chop down our perfect Christmas tree. Harvey decided that a long car ride and walking around in the snow just wasn't for him this year. {my mom and I enjoyed a day of SHOPPING....so fun!} They really did pick out the perfect tree this year! RJ strung the lights and Abbey did a lot of the decorating herself. Jo joined in the fun towards the end, and we all enjoyed watching "White Christmas" as we decorated. {another Mathews tradition}
I love this time of year, and cannot believe it is here again, already! My mom gave us "Elf on the Shelf" this year, and it has been a fun tradition to start with our family. The girls named him Henry. That was the one that stuck, I wish I could remember the rejects, they were way funny! He watches the girls every day from a different spot in the house. At night, he flies back to the North Pole and reports to Santa. He's always back the next morning in a different spot! It's been fun.
The first morning he had left and come back, Abbey came in first thing and asked if I'd help her find Henry. She was scared he might "jump out or say something to her" I died laughing...kinda "Chucky like" that Henry is!
