Letters to Santa

Abbey's list goes on and on {and is ever changing!} She is at the prime Santa age. She's so excited for Christmas, she can't see straight {or sit still for 10 seconds!}

Jo's list hasn't changed once. She cracks me up. She obviously watches too much TV. When asking for Moon Dough...it's never just that. It's always "Moon dough...that never dries out!" She could be the spokesperson for this toy!

PS. The girls got letters back from Santa today {December 23} They were so excited. We are busily preparing for Christmas today. They've helped me clean the house, they've frosted cookies for Santa, set up a plate of sugar sprinkles {which they'll add some carrots to tomorrow} for the reindeer, and wrapped presents! We're officially ready for Christmas!

Jocey Hobsen {a family friend and Jo's sunbeam teacher} Brought Jojo home from church one Sunday. She stopped by her parent's to grab some veggies. Jocey asked Jo, "Does your dad like zuchinni?" Jo looked up confused and said, "My dad likes BIKINIS!" to which Ben {Jocey's husband} replied, "I bet he does!"

We were just leaving Abbey's first T-ball practice. We got into the car and we were talking about things and Abbey says,
"Mom, how do you get a goal in baseball?"

We were on our way to church {late as always, 9:00 church is KILLING me} and Abbey asked if we were late.
"Yes." I said
"Why are we always late? Is it because we have too many people in our family?" Abbey
"YES!" I said
haha!

I was explaining to Abbey that Harvey has RSV and what that means. She looked at me and said,
"I wish I could have that for him." It was one of the sweetest, most tender things I've heard. Abbey loves her baby brother and would do anything for him.

Makayla had her shirt on her head today
{and didn't want to put it on}
"I'm showing my nips!"--Makayla...honestly, where does she get that? WHO says that??
About 30 seconds later, "I farted." --Makayla
{she loves announcing that lately. She used to be embarrassed...lately, not so much}

She's a CLASSY gal, that Jo!

Abbey came out at about 10:30 {after being in bed since 9} to use the bathroom. RJ went in to check on her, and she had his glasses in her hand?? He asked her what she was doing with his glasses and she just stared at him. She grabbed the toilet paper, used the last square to wipe, and without tearing it from the roll, flushed it down. The whole roll started to follow! She got up and went back to bed, all without a word!

Mom- "Makayla what do you want Santa to bring you this year?"
Makayla- " A REAL baby like this one." {points to baby brother}
Mom-"Oh, that might be a little tricky. How about a new baby doll?"
Makayla- "NO, a REAL baby with a real nose and mouth and ears. Like this one!"

RJ had recently had a PPI{Personal Priesthood Interview} with Abbey, and they set some daily goals. He was telling Makayla at FHE that next Sunday she was going to have a PPI with daddy. Sunday came, they had their PPI, Makayla came out and said,
"PPI's are DUMB!"
"PPI's are done?"--mom
"NO, PPI's are DUMB. I'm not doing that again."--Makayla
Apparently it wasn't as fun as she was expecting.

Mom, "Makayla you need to brush your teeth before church."
Makayla, "Why?"
Mom, "Because your breath stinks."
Makayla, "I LIKE my breath!"

Abbey and I were looking at my friend Hailey's blog and she had pictures of her adorable baby, Lincoln under the Christmas tree.

In primary today, the bishopric was announcing the new theme for the month which has to do with temples. He was discussing how the temple "sticks" your family together.

Abbey's hand shot straight up and she yelled,"popcorn!"--
This is so cute because her papa makes her "sticky popcorn" AKA marshmallow popcorn and it is her favorite thing, and it's VERY sticky.

I was watching Harry Potter the other night, after Abbey had gone to bed. Makayla was up late {she napped that day}
She saw Dumbledoor, "SANTA! I love Santa!"--Makayla
She saw Haggrid, "JESUS!"
She asked who Harry Potter was
"Harry Potter"--mom
Daddy walks in
"What's he name dad? That Teeter Totter?" -Makayla
She saw Professor MgGonnagal -- "Who's that?"--Makayla
"Professor MgGonnagal"--mom
"MgGonnagal?"--Makayla
Asks again MgGonnagal's name--
"What is her name?" --mom
"I don't know... Grandma??" --Makayla
This girl cracks us up--

Everyday--
"I'm gonna do ballet and golf!"-- Makayla
She cannot WAIT until she gets to start ballet--it's all she talks about.

"Yeh, But I love Dr. Pepper. It's my favorite drink."--Abbey

"It's a kind of Rootbeer, but it tastes better going down your throat!"--Abbey
Yes, she has inherited my love for DP and Yes, she really has tasted it...just a sip here and there

Winter 2008
This is too funny so I need to write it down. Broc and Julie adopted a darling baby boy last August. He's African American and Abbey never seemed to notice or at least never said/asked anything about it. Broc and Julie were babysitting Abbey and Makayla and Abbey was playing with baby Tyler. She looked up at Julie and {very matter-of-factly} says,
"Well, it looks like you are going to have a brown baby!"
So funny! Like she was just waiting for his skin to turn light and decided it just wasn't gonna happen!

Last few days {April 10-12}
"She lookes so DAPPER!"--Abbey
and this is a good thing. She says it when her barbies are dressed up fancy.

Potty training week- {March 25-April 1}
Everytime Makayla sits on the potty and looks down to see pee trinkling in the toilet
"I got POTTY POWER!"- Makayla

April 1st
Makayla is sitting by me and lets a HUGE, squeaky toot.
"Whoa tooters!"- mom
With a very concerned look, "I poop!"- Makayla
Run to potty

Abbey watching American Idol with me--{In her most "adult" voice}
"He is such a TALENT!" --Abbey Mathews
It cracks me up, she takes bits and pieces of things we say, and puts it together in her own unique way.
