That'll leave a mark!

Here is Abbey the day after being head butt by a bull. We were in Enterprise for the Atkin family reunion, and Abbey and I were heading over to RJ and Makayla (they were across the field seeing a dog.) We had to pass by some cows...But we had done it earlier --No biggie, right,
WRONG. Abbey shimmied through the fence so fast, I didn't even have time to think that maybe the cows were a little too close this time AND BAM!! A cow comes full force and head butts her. She staggers and has a look of pure fear on her face when BOOM!! another hit from behind. This one hard enough to send her flying head first into the fence and then flat on her back. I was screaming all this time and quickly reached over the fence, grabbed her foot and pulled her over before she was trampled. It all happened within 5 seconds, but it felt like the LONGEST 5 seconds of my life. I pulled her over the fence to safety and set her --screaming-- on the ground only to see that she had landed in a huge pile of
Cow poop-- of course! Poor girl! It was awful. I felt so sick. My cousins little girl, who is 8...going on 80, then approached me and said, "I suggest you go home. Is this your daughter? I suggest you take her home and wash her up, because that is disgusting!" Oh my gosh! Is that not the funniest thing you've ever heard? (--what she said, not what happened to Abbey of course-- It really wasn't funny to me at the time...but now, pretty funny) SO here is my sweet Abbey the next day. I wish I would've gotten a picture when she first woke up that morning, it was totally swollen shut. Oh--poor thing!! She's a true "cowgirl" now.

Seriously!?How does one 3 year old encounter a bull and not have more injuries than that. She is one lucky, tough girl. Tell her we're sorry and hope she gets better soon. What a brave girl she is. Tell her we love her. See you in a few days!!!!

Oh Poor Abbey, that really made me so sad when I saw her. I can't believe that, I wish more people would have been there to help you with this chaos. I am so glad she didn't get more injured, but still stupid cow! We should have it put to sleep. She was being such a trooper..I think she deserves a big ole cowgirl treat.

Remind me never to have a head butting contest against that girl. She'll kick my rump! Glad she's tough anyway!

Wow! I'd never heard the full story--no wonder you were screaming.

It's REALLY late and for some reason I am still up, and when I'm tired everything is hysterical. THAT was one hilarious story. I think I'm ready to go to bed on a happy note.

(I am of course glad that she's okay, but that is an epic story for the rest of her life. Good work on saving her before too serious of damage was done.)
