So, today is my "Golden Birthday". You only have the Golden, once in a lifetime...so, obviously, this is big. It was my Golden because on the 25th of the month I turned 25. 25!?? Can I just say that when I was in high school, 25, seemed...old. I don't FEEL old... I feel like I really haven't changed much since high school. (yeah...right) . My birthday is always the day (once a year) that I sit down and write in my journal. I sum up my year, and sort of "take stock" on things. It is a time of some serious reflection and contemplation. I can honestly say that I am happy with what I've accomplished in my short 25 years on earth. I have a wonderful husband. He makes me happy, he makes me laugh daily, he appreciates me, and truly he just "gets me". I have two beautiful baby girls, who are the absolute LOVE of my life. How could I look at them and not feel good about my life. Children truly are what life is all about. Those girls have taught me so much. I have the "perfect" job, for a MOSTLY stay-at-home mom. And a wonderful mother who takes such good care of the girls, while I work for a day and enjoy using my mind a little (and try to keep it from turning to mush). It is a nice break, and to be honest, a good refresher. So, I may be 25, but I can live with that. I may not look like I do in my drivers license picture anymore... and sadly things are already not where they should be, um--body wise, and I'm pretty sure I've noticed some slight creasing at the corners of my eyes (Crow's feet, I believe is the proper terminology) BUT I am happier than I have ever been, and excited for what the other 3/4 of a century may hold.
The girls came running in this morning with cards...so cute! (My age is definitely showing in this picture--yikes)

I asked for money, this year, to have to spend in San Fran (whoo hoo!), but I have to give Arge credit for making it creative. He gave me a bit in my card from him, a bit in my card from the girls, and then in the kitchen there were two different pictures of San Fran (Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz) and taped behind each picture...a bit more. So props for the creativity. It was very sweet. (Abbey, of course, took this picture-- classic)
