This past month:
We traveled up North for Brinlee's baptism. Harvey traveled fair. He didn't sleep much at all in route. I finally figured out his air control and he was much more comfortable and much less sweaty after that. While we were there, he was as pleasant as punch. He napped great and enjoyed being loved by family. He LOVED Aspen, Lee and Monika's dog.
Celebrated the fourth of July, He didn't see ONE firework...He was LONG GONE by then. We spent the day at Grandma's having yummy lunch, swimming and Grandma also does a scavenger hunt every year. Harvey slept through most of this as well.
We left Harvey with our favorite babysitter Whitney for the first time, while we went out for Grandma's birthday. He was great and Whitney got him to sleep with out any problems at all. Her only trouble was not being able to get his pants back on after she changed his diaper before bed. {He is sooo squirmy!}
Harvey's newest thing is HEAD BUTTS! He started with head butts with other people BUT now he started head butting anything in his way, and even more recently he head butts the floor when he starts to feel frustrated by something.
Speaking of frustrating...the girls are in HYPER MODE 24/7 with Harvey for the past 2 weeks. I think the Summer Duldrums have set in and they are taking their pent up energy and using it ALL on Harvey and he is starting to put up a fight. He almost immediately starts head butting when they come his way. He's into exploring and doing his own thing, and they cannot walk by without picking him up and moving him. It's starting to drive him crazy, and I'm to the point of almost losing my mind.
He could crawl around and find things to put in his mouth all day. He likes to be left alone to explore and do his own thing.
He will sit and play with his toys for a minute. A little longer if I'm sitting there with him. He enjoys riding his rocking pony, going down his little slide {with help}, and any toy that makes music.
He LOVES music and started dancing this month. It started with a head bob that was sooo dang cute. Now he has added a little knee bend with it. He's got some SWEET moves.
He has 7 teeth, that last lower lateral still hasn't popped through, and I think it's been trying for about a month.
He LOVES to suck on toothbrushes. Whenever RJ or I are brushing our teeth, he'll haul over to us and smack his lips until we let him have a little taste of our toothpaste. He wants to be held and carried around with us the whole time we are brushing, and he'll beg {smack his lips} for lots of tastes! The other morning RJ came out brushing his teeth and Harvey was in his high chair. He got so excited and RJ started to walk away and he just started CRYING! So daddy had to get him out of his high chair and take him to brush with him. It's just HIS thing!
He started babbling this month. Up until now he's been pretty quiet. Just crawling around growling. But now he's got a good little chatter to go with it.
He doesn't like cooked carrots or eggs. He doesn't eat any baby food anymore. He likes to feed himself, but will still let us feed him some things with a spoon. He doesn't seem to like yogurt for breakfast as much as he used to. Daddy usually makes him french toast in the mornings. For lunch he likes chicken nuggets, baby turkey sticks, string cheese, cheese tacos, pizza, burritos, and mac n cheese {pretty much whatever the girls are having} For dinner he is eating what we eat. He thinks he's big stuff.
He started drinking water from a sippy and now holds it on his own and enjoys having a sippy full of water at all times. He's a thirsty boy. I've given him a few sippys full of half apple juice/ half water to see if I can help with the flow of his bowel movements, but he prefers his water.
He pushes and pushes so hard and usually just poops a hard ball. He doesn't seem too bothered by it, but he does have some constipation issues.
He likes to play in the toilet. We have to keep almost all the doors closed around the house, but especially the bathrooms. He'll head STRAIGHT there, unroll all the toilet paper and slosh his hands in the toilet.
He has two swirly cowlicks in the back of his head {I've still yet to take a picture of} There is just something endearing about his crazy fly away hair. I love it!
At 10 months Harvey is standing for a brief second and has taken ONE whole step. I think It'll still be another month or so before he's walking. But he can walk around furniture and crawl like nobody's business!
Harvey,
Each month that passes, I think I just couldn't love you any more than I already do. But each month, week, day, hour, minute, second that continues to pass I love you more and more. You are the sunshine in our home. Your sisters adore every bit of you. Mom and Dad marvel at your perfectness and everyone else in the family {grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles} just can't seem to get enough of you either. You are just a fun baby to be around. You are always laughing and smiling. You are rarely upset or fussy. You LOVE your red blanket and as soon as you even SEE it, your thumb is in your mouth. It's so cute, we love the way you suck your thumb. We're sure it won't be so cute when you're 8, but right now it's adorable. As is everything about you! I love you to the moon and back, my sweet baby boy!
Mom {mamamama...we're working on it!}
{First time I let him get in and play with the girls in the tub for a minute.
The girls thought it was pretty great}
Left: cheerios for breakfast
Right: COOKIE DOUGH! YUM
The naked get away! This baby is darn near IMPOSSIBLE to dress!
{and he's fast}
Giggles before bed make for better dreams...
