Little Mr. Harvey Dean...five months old! I just wish I could push "Pause" and keep my baby little just a little longer. Time goes sooo fast that first year. Harvey is still the SWEETEST most CONTENT baby around. I don't know what we did to deserve him, but we are so happy to have him in our home. He seems to be completely over his RSV {yay} and we're all getting back into the swing of things. He is sleeping much less during the day {back to his regular 2 hour naps} During his sickness he was having up to two FOUR hour naps. It's funny how short the 2 hour naps seem now. It's nice to be getting back on our schedule a little bit though. His appetite has also picked WAY up again. I'm so glad to see him eating like normal. He is now having some veggies at night instead of rice cereal. He seems to like that and is getting the hang of the whole solid foods thing. Although, he gags {at least once} every meal. I think it's a texture issue and probably some genetics passed on from his gaggy uncle Kelly! He has tried sweet potatoes and squash so far. Next on the list is carrots...hopefully he doesn't start turning orange from all these orange veggies. With the solid food came much more regular pooping from this little guy too. He went from once a week to one to two poops a day! He is slowing down a little again. Back to every few days. I think his little system had to get used to the solids.
This month Harvey has been giggling lots {oh we LOVE that!} and focusing more and more on us and from further distances. He also found his TONGUE! He loves to stick it out at us and he also LOVES to suck his bottom lip. He has rolled over a number of times {probably 3 or 4 tummy to back and 1 time back to tummy} I just know he'll be sitting up and crawling before we know it.
He wakes up from naps and in the mornings so HAPPY! I usually don't even know when he wakes up. I just happen to walk in to check on him and he's laying there wide awake, sucking on his thumb. He sees me and looks up SO HAPPY! Oh, it just makes my day.
Remember Harvey's only vice? How he HATED his carseat and cried most the time we were in the car. Well, we got a new car seat and that seemed to do the trick. He hardly ever fusses in the car now. His old car seat, come to find out, was pretty hard and was probably really uncomfortable. So, he now rides around in his "Cadillac" Car seat and he likes it much better. So, now Harvey has no vices. He is sweet almost ALL the time. {He really rarely fusses} He is just happy to be along for the ride.
