Reflections

Abbey decided she wanted to enter the reflections contest this year. The theme this year was “Diversity means...” I thought that was a tough one to explain to a six year old. We went through the different categories and Abbey decided she wanted to choreograph a dance, showing all the “different” types of dancing. She stated that, “Anyone can dance. You can dance whenever and WHEREVER you choose. In your bedroom, your kitchen or your living room. I love to dance and it helps to keep me healthy.” She came up with a darling dance. I was so proud of her and excited that she WON! We went to an awards ceremony and saw her dance playing on the TV for everyone to see. She was so embarrassed! Now she gets to move onto region competition.

I remember winning the reflections contest for my age group when I was her age. She will always look back at this experience at something to be proud of (and maybe laugh at because her video sounds super fun!) I hung out with Jocey and Kirsten yesterday and they showed me Brayden's first place picture of my parent's dumb 3 legged dog, Beau! haha I laughed so hard. Did you see it, Rach?
