Ahhh...the BEACH!

{Day 1}
Abbey got in the water this year!! Yah!!--
she LOVED boogie boarding with daddy
{until she'd get knocked off and go under, then she was done for the day}
Makayla LOVED the sand.
She just pattered around all day, destroying sand castles
and playing with baby Tyler
Both girls zonked for LONG naps--

The Mathews' boys had some fun beach games,
that Abbey {and Daddy} enjoyed playing with them--
The one above is called batci ball--or something like that
Makayla napped in my arms the first day
I wasn't sure she'd stay asleep if I laid her down...it wasn't worth the risk
My back ached that night :)
Abbey and Travis took turns burrying each other--

{Day 2}
More boogie boarding
She and Carter attempted to SURF on their boogie boards too--

This was the only day in the WHOLE week that the whole family was there together

This time I laid Makayla down and I boogie boarded while they slept
It's a workout
Then Danielle and I took the boat out--
too bad we don't have pictures {very comical}

It was sooo fun--CRAZINESS but fun
We filled the entire banquet room

{Day 3}
The tide was so high when we first went down
The boys had to build us a trench to keep the water out
Makayla LOVED feeding Tyler her pudding--
He also loved it :)
Abbey and Avery had so much fun with new mermaid dolls
More fun making "drippy" sandcastles
and finding sand crabs
UNTIL Quincy threw one down my swimsuit
I'm pretty sure that's not what he meant to do
He was mortified
{He's 12 }
Abbey went on a seashell hunt with dad {her favorite thing to do}
She found a water bottle full
They are still at the beach
{oops}

What a great trip! We LOVE our tradition of going to San Elijo beach with the Mathews' clan and camping on the beach for a week {well 3 days for us} We wake up early --ride bikes and walk around the campground {Makayla became quite the bike rider--thanks Avery} and then head down to the beach--where we stay until Sunset
We eat a yummy dinner and have smores every night--and just enjoy being with family.
